Votes:0 Computer Graphics Lesson Plans These are Lesson Plans that I have used to introduce "Computer Graphics" to my elementary students. Of course, they can be used by anybody. These lesson plans were conceived at different times when there were different circumstances at my school. I first had a few computers in my art room which I would use a timer and rotate the children on the computers. We then developed a computer lab with 18 computers. I would take my class to the lab and allow 18 students to work on the project at one time. When this happened, we used disks and the children learned how to save their work to a disk and return it to me at the end of the period. I would check their work at my computer between class times and return the disks to them at the next computer lab time, where they Read More Go to Site

Votes:0 Keyboard Activities Teach Keyboarding skills or not? That is the question. I have come to the conclusion that it is important. But are we expected to teach keyboarding now as well as everything else in the curriculum? Not necessarily! Here are some ideas that could get your children started in keyboarding with minimum effort from you, or you could join in and learn to type at the same time :-) Typing Card Practice . Print these out, cut out individually and laminate. Everytime a child goes to the computer, they get a new card, stick it to the side of the screen, open up word processor and copy the card. It is important that they have a buddy standing by to check that they are using all the correct fingers. They can then record their progress on an individual tracking sheet These can also b Read More Go to Site
Votes:0 Suggested Activities Saskatchewan Education's document A Handbook for Educators: Keyboarding provides a "starter kit" of activities beginning on page 16. The following activities are in addition to those in the above document. Develop a bulletin board display illustrating proper care and handling of the equipment (hardware) and/or software students will be using. Develop a display illustrating the basic parts of the equipment. Show a film or a video illustrating proper technique while keyboarding. High school students could model and develop the video. Demonstrate proper and improper technique while keyboarding. Technique is extremely important in the development of keyboarding skill and must be continuously encouraged. Keyboarding should not be taught sitting down but rather by moving aro Read More Go to Site

are written to be used with Word 6.0. (You will need to download
Adobe Acrobat Reader to access these files. This available free from

as I get some time, I will put up my overall program design and many
more plans. This will probably not be completed until the beginning
of school year 97/98 (or possibly later). I ask that you send me an

Votes:0 Alphabet Typists Students are instructed to type the alphabet as quickly as possible with their eyes closed. They may sing the alphabet song out loud as they key it in together. Baseball This activity is for speed development. The class is divided into two teams and each team selects a name. Students are timed for one minute on a selected line or sentence. They are to key the line as many times as they can during the timing. Each line is equal to one base; four bases (lines) equal a run. Scoring: Each team counts the number of lines each team member completes during the timing, and records the ?run? on the board. For example: if a team gets ten total bases (lines), it scores two runs and has a runner on second for the start of the next inning. The number of innings is based on the amount o Read More Go to Site
